Will It Be A Real Page Turner
Will it be a real page turner?
Will there be countless dog-eared corners from having put it down so often due to it being such a long read; yet too interesting to be forgotten long enough to gather dust?
Will there be tear-stained pages?
Will there be battered corners from having it tossed across the room out of anger, disgust, or hopelessness?
Will it be something you fear others reading, or, will you revel in the idea?
Will it stack up to the greats? Will people murder one another for its sake?
Will a heart skip a beat and a tiny gasp of air speed back down a throat as a tear is choked back, while grabbing for a sleeping lover's hand, just to make sure they're still there-or better yet- that someone is thankful they are?
No matter how devastating the tragedy of a chapter -or even two or three- may be, there is much more of the story than that one brief moment.
We may share some of the characters, and even some crossover plots, but whatever the story is, take comfort and pride in knowing it's yours.
The texture.
The blemishes and imperfections.
The weightiness.
The whole of it.
It has meaning beyond your comprehension of its pages.
A speck of dust or not, your story has transcendent worth
