God III
I don't believe in hocus-pocus
I don't believe in mumbo-jumbo
I don't believe in The Bearded Man
or the master of Cajun gumbo
I don't believe in destiny
or even free-will of man
I don't believe in many things
aside from this moment in which we stand
...and often times, I can't believe
in this moment- now and here
With all the want and all the greed
the present tense can't be made of a sow's ear
This moment now has filled the space
of time for each one alone
And when I step into your space
I invade your sacred home
I impose too much
Too much for you
to willfully give of you
those moments of your time, the "now"
always seems too few
So looking back I don't believe
I believe in anything
Anything more than the now
to you I'll always bring
I don't believe in hocus-pocus
I don't believe in mumbo-jumbo
I don't believe in The Bearded Man
or the master of Cajun gumbo
I don't believe in destiny
or even free-will of man
I don't believe in many things
aside from this moment in which we stand
...and often times, I can't believe
in this moment- now and here
With all the want and all the greed
the present tense can't be made of a sow's ear
This moment now has filled the space
of time for each one alone
And when I step into your space
I invade your sacred home
I impose too much
Too much for you
to willfully give of you
those moments of your time, the "now"
always seems too few
So looking back I don't believe
I believe in anything
Anything more than the now
