I Want - I'll Take

I want to be bothered by your touch
That in-my-shoulder-awkwardness
where your elbow finds purchase

That crowding-my-side-of-the-bed-pillow
nestled between your knees
infringing on my space

I want to be offended
by the trampling words
of your insensitive tongue

These annoyances,
tiny shadows on the moonscape
of the remov'd-blessid-desolation of us,

away from the blue-planet-pollution
rife with strangers
masquerading as lovers and soulmates
...shadows in which we find refuge
from the commonplace reflection
of the neverwas faux brilliance
of the everycouple.

I'll take my shadows
I'll cherish your tongue
intrusive or otherwise
I'll find comfort in the closeness
of your comfort bringing between-the-knees-pillow
I'll relish the elbow
I'll await any bothersome touch
with which you might dare to intrude
and find comfort in knowing
that your hand- no matter how angry or kind
will be far more true
than those of our
would-be-evercouple-peers
