Dead folk are funny
with their greens pushing out
blades of what they were
more now than what they were about

Fodder for our words
flitter-wisps-in-winds
food for birds, the worms
what good their pieces could have been

Funny are the dead
who aren't 'round to tell
how arrogant they seemed
clinging to their shell
